DISCOVER FLYING RC CLUB FLIGHT TRAINING PROGRAMS
Safety is extremely important to us. Fundamental to safety is having a good training program.
A flight training program not only teaches the student how to flying his/her aircraft, but it covers safety practices, field etiquette and protocols, AMA and club rules, and aircraft maintenance. Flight training is free to all club members.
The essentials of our program are as follows.
1. The training program targets new pilots to our hobby. However, any club member may elect to receive additional training by our certified flight instructors.
2. All new and novice pilots must pass a documented test flight before they can fly solo at our field.
3. Club authorized instructors are appointed after being qualified by the Chief Flight Instructor. Certified flight instructors have to pass flight and ground tests and prove that they have the ability to teach.
4. Our flight instructors can advise new members on which aircraft is best suited as a trainer plane. Before you spend one dime on it come and visit us a few times to make sure this is the hobby for you., you may try a ‘test flight’ with one of our flight instructors by contacting our Chief Flight Instructor, Ken Kehoe, at kenkehoe7265@gmail.com or info@discoverflying.org.
